In 2013, Daniel Ortiz graduated from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine with a Master’s Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine (Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine) and Massage Therapy. He is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Licensed Massage Therapist who comes to us with years of experience through his private practice in New York as well as through his extensive travels abroad providing acupuncture and massage in Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Puerto Rico.
Daniel Ortiz continues to enhance his knowledge and skill though active research with Dr. Poney Chiang, the program director of the Integrative Acupuncture at York University, Toronto. In addition, he traveled to Thailand to train in Therapeutic Thai Massage at Wat Pho Traditional Thai Massage School in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.
Daniel specializes in the integration of Acupuncture and Massage Therapy for Orthopedic Conditions and Pain Management. He uniquely integrates Zheng Gu Tui Na (Advanced Chinese Medical Massage) and Therapeutic Thai Massage, joint mobilization, and stretching techniques to complement his acupuncture treatments and to achieve faster-acting and longer-lasting results. His patients experience significant pain relief, improved muscle tone and increased joint range of motion.
Daniel furthered his education in Acupuncture by completing professional courses in Neuro-Meridian Integrative Acupuncture with Dr. Poney Chiang and Neurofunctional Acupuncture with Dan Wunderlich.
His main style of Acupuncture focuses on treating chronic contracted muscles through stimulating specific neuroanatomical structures within "acupoints". He also practices Dr. Tan’s Balance method, which is an effective style of acupuncture that uses distal acupuncture points to alleviate pain and treat internal medicine conditions.
For extra-curricular activities, Daniel, practices, Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan at the H. Won Tai Chi Institute in Manhattan.
